This is Tabur Extreme / Tabur 3 - today we are trying to find the way to reach the top. If you want to trek here, I recommend that you wear long pants... and even long sleeve shirt.... otherwise you will get itchy rash/dots all over....

Early morning on Sunday, park here

Today we got GPS ... just in case we get lost...

Have a banana...

Stop at the Pak Cik house for chit chat

Jan got some instructions printed out from the Shiek's website

Nice KL view

Continue trekking to the starting point...

Tabur East...

That's where we are suppose to go ...

There's a jeep parked here... who's car issit ?

Walk walk ... make sure you wear long pants/leech socks...

Turun ! Turun ! Somebody yell at us to leave and go down immediately
Don't worry there are 10 of us, and 2 parangs... so just keep walking
Good to travel in a group, especially when exploring new place...

Walk walk walk... good thing I wore long pants !

Today no need to spend so much time chopping with parang.. so can move faster than last time...

After a few mins can see some view...

Keep trekking... so far so good.. still easy...

Whew...

Got some trail markers

Nice view... musim kemarau.. can see the low water level at the dam..

Trek trek trek....

Another little view point of some rocky cliff...

Who wants to do rock climbing...

Climb down some rocks

This is another landmark tree....
Hug the tree... feel nature....

Be careful... lots of thorns here in this section....

Kelapa sawit ? Nipah ?

Ask Kieth to go ahead and check out the trail first before the rest of us follow...

Rocks...

Are we lost ?

This part no clear trail... not for beginners...

Can do some rock climbing here...

Ok.. this is one of the toughest part... found the way to go to the top.. between some rocks... lots of loose soil (tanah gambut)... and dead branches with nothing much to hold on to.... should have a rope here...

Ong slips and falls down and startles Jan....

Hah hah... hold on, down fall down... no place to stand...

Come up here...

Nice tree roots

Are we there yet... ?

Is this the way to the peak ? We are almost there...

Another trail marker/landmark branch

Ong and Jan explores some bushes...

Which way to go to the peak ? No clear trail... where's Edwin ?

Over here !

Climb up here... steep, you got to be independent and be able to climb up yourself.... or ask Korean Lee to borrow his stick....

Singapore Andrew... coming up... no problem...

Edwin waiting up there.. yeah...

At the ridge now... got the same type of trees you can find in Tabur East/West

View of the dam and the small island

Group photo .... difficult to find people to take photo for us..

KL and Taman Melawati....

Yeah!

Still need to walk some more... climb down to get to the other side

Take photo of Ong passing parang to Edwin

Are we there yet...?

Almost there...

Funny grass

Yeah.. can see Tabur East

KL view

Me...

Quartz rocks

Nice mossy carpet

Time for a short break for makan...

Time to trek back

Come down here....

Who's gonna take photo for all of us.. nobody...

Ok go back down... this way ?

Exploring another way down

Bump into another group of Malay trekkers

Asking for directions ... where they came from... ?
Not very helpful bunch.... they still look very clean.. probably came in from Kampung Kemensah.. behind Zoo Negara...

Batu Gajah ?

Trek back lah.... tired.. now already about 2pm

Rest for awhile

Yey.. finish...

Rest at the pak cik hut.. and mandi also can...

Since we all tired, ask Pak Cik to give us a lift back to the parking lot ...
THE END
